Yvonne Marie Seeman was born on June 13, 1945 in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Her parents were the late Marvin and Grace (Dettwiler) Seeman. Yvonne graduated from the Deer Creek High School with the class of 1963. On October 8, 1966 Yvonne was united in marriage with Thomas William McKellep at the First Congregation United Church of Christ in Wadena. Their marriage was blessed with 2 children.
Yvonne was employed with Blue Cross Blue Shield in Minneapolis. Yvonne and Tom made their home in Wadena where Yvonne was employed with Culligan of Wadena as the office manager for 38 years. Tom passed away on May 27, 2005. Due to health conditions, Yvonne retired from Culligan in September of 2015.
Yvonne enjoyed her garden, growing flowers and vegetables, camping, crocheting, boat rides and long drives. She was an active member of the Wadena Alliance Church where she enjoyed Christian Women’s, teaching Sunday School, Bible Study and any church event. She was also active in Relay for Life, Solo Sisters and an election worker. Yvonne loved getting her nails done, but the most precious times she spent was with her family and especially her grandchildren.
On August 28, 2020 Yvonne passed away peacefully at her home in Wadena, Minnesota with the loving care of the Red River Valley Hospice and loving caregivers at 75 years of age. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, Marvin and Grace Seeman; husband, Thomas McKellep; brother, David Seeman; sister, Diane Wheeler.
Yvonne is survived by her loving daughter, Michelle (Sam) Sundby of Wadena; son, Shane McKellep of Libby, Montana; 8 grandchildren: Brianna Sundby, Andrew Sundby, Bailey Sundby, Cole Sundby, Kyleigh McKellep, Zachary McKellep, Maiseigh McKellep and Wyatt McKellep; Siblings: Don (Sheryl) Seeman of Madison, Wisconsin; Arlene Brame of Maple Grove; Jerry (Bonnie) Seeman of Plymouth and Susan (Robert) McKellep of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; many other relatives and a host of friends.
