William "Bill" Nerdahl

William “Bill” Andrew Nerdahl, age 79, of Underwood, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Battle Lake, Minnesota

William Andrew Nerdahl was born January 28, 1946, at Granite Falls, Minnesota, to Howard and Hattie (Schroder) Nerdahl. He was baptized and confirmed at St John’s Lutheran Church in Dent, Minnesota. He grew up in the Star Lake area of Dent, Minnesota. He Graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1965. In 1980, he graduated from Alexandria technical school, Alexandria, Minnesota. Obtained an associated degree in Appliance Repair.

He was drafted into the arm forces in 1965 where he entered the US Navy. He served our country on the USS O’Hare destroyer for four years during the Vietnam War. He was honorary discharged in 1969.

On September 9, 1972, he married Joyce Estelle Spitzer. They made their home in the Dent, Minnesota area.  He worked for the Cenex LP Gas plant in Perham, Minnesota for 28 years.

He was a member of the Dent fire department and the Fergus Falls Post 612 VFW. He was a member of the Maplewood Lutheran Church of Erhard, Minnesota. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, golfing with his friends, and visiting.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Joyce Nerdahl, brother Timothy Nerdahl, of Dent, Minnesota; sisters-in-laws: June (Roger) Bengtson of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Dawn (Michael) Maack of FrenchTown, Montana; brother-in-law Paul Spritzer of Dent, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Hattie Nerdahl, brother, Terrance Nerdahl, brother-in-law Roger Bengtson, several cousins, aunts and uncles.
