William Lee (Billy) Harris was born on October 11, 1939 to William and Stella (O'Brien) Harris in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The family moved to Minnesota where they farmed and owned a resort. Bill attended Rose Hill Country School (District 132), located in Edna Township, Otter Tail County.
Bill worked on the family farm, Lakeland Turkey Plant and eventually Swift Turkey Processing. It was here that he met Sandra Kay Olson. They were married on September 21, 1974. To this union they welcomed one son, William. After their divorce Bill made his home in Fergus Falls, Minnesota and was employed at Productive Alternatives.
Bill liked being outdoors all year round. He enjoyed fishing, snowmobile riding, horse and bike riding spending countless hours with his sisters. In more recent years he liked feeding the birds and watching the deer.
Bill is survived by his son William and sisters Darlene (Dale) Schultz, Jean (Larry) Mischke of Perham as well as his nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and care providers.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents William (Bill) and Stella and his former wife Sandy.
