William Ganz Obituary

William (Bill) Henry Ganz was born on December 28, 1931, in Little Falls Township, Morrison County, Minnesota. His parents were the late Max and Ernestine (Beseman) Ganz. Bill completed the 8th grade at the Randall Country School.

He was drafted into the U.S. Army when he was 19 and his period of active duty was from Jan. 18, 1951 - Oct. 20, 1952. He fought in the Korean War.  The memories of the battles, including Heartbreak Ridge, were with him his entire life.

Bill was united in marriage with Luetta Ann Kvarnlov on September 4, 1953, in Minneapolis. They had been married for 68 years as of September 4, 2021. Their marriage was blessed with three children: Wendy, Cynthia, and Matthew.

Bill’s primary employment was as a Journeyman Lineman for Donavon Construction while living in north Minneapolis and Brooklyn Center. Bill and Luetta moved their family to a small farm south of Verndale in 1971.  He loved animals. Later, they owned and operated Ganz Grocery in Verndale for a short time, eventually moving to town.

When Bill retired, he found out that he liked working with wood and made many beautiful things, such as tables, canes, and shelves. He also made tables for the church for Sunday school classes. He loved God and was a praying man.

On January 5, 2022, Luetta Ganz passed away in the comfort of her own home. She is dearly missed by all of those who loved her.
