Wayne Anthony Greenwood, age 69, of Wadena, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Astera Health Hospital in Wadena.
Wayne Anthony Greenwood was born on September 25, 1955, in Moorhead, Minnesota to Donald and Shirley (Christianson) Greenwood. He was raised by foster parents, Ovila and Lucinda Rheault of Horace, ND, for 14 years along with his brother Jeff Greenwood.
He attended Beach High School, Home on the Range and Golden Gloves Boxing where he won many awards.
On May 17, 1975, Wayne married Carol Ann Chaska at St. John’s Catholic Church in Beach, and they resided in many locations of the Midwest, then settled in Dickinson, North Dakota. Wayne and Carol later moved to Killdeer, North Dakota then Fargo, North Dakota and in 2022 they made their home in Wadena, Minnesota.
Wayne worked as a truck driver most of his life, starting out in Beach as a milk truck driver, then as an over the road driver for Koch, Missouri Basin, Bob Anderson Trucking, and then back to a local route for Aramark. He took pride in his work and earned the Safe Driver award.
Wayne enjoyed camping, coin collecting, and watching Westerns. He loved his dog, Jake.
Preceding Wayne in death are his wife Carol, his parents Don and Shirley Greenwood, his daughter Valerie (Greenwood) Kilzer, and his brother Jeff Greenwood.
Wayne is survived by his daughter Christina (Darren) Folkestad, his son David (Monica); his grandchildren: Johnathan Hilton, Jared Hilton, and Grayson Greenwood; his siblings: Jeanne (Steve) Wichmann Taylor and Richard Greenwood; many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
