Timothy Herman Wohlert was born on June 3, 1952, to Herman and Violet (Pokorney) Wohlert in Wadena, Minnesota. He grew up on the family farm in Wadena Township. Tim attended Wadena High School, graduating with the class of 1970. Following high school, Tim was employed at the Cenex Coop. On April 2, 1973, Tim enlisted in the United States Navy. He served his country until his honorable discharge on March 18, 1977.
On June 24, 1978, Tim was united in marriage to Mary Kay Schiller at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Wadena. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Paul and Mark. Together they made their home on the family farm. Tim was a full-time freight truck driver for Cenex in Wadena before working for Mobile Imaging, transporting portable CT and MRI machines in Fargo. Then he began his 23-year employment at Wadena High School as the transportation supervisor until his retirement in July of 2017.
Tim loved music. He enjoyed playing guitar and giving his grandson lessons. He liked to cook, grill, garden, and tinker in the garage where he built an assortment of random items. He also enjoyed attending horse shows and watching YouTube videos.Tim was a member of the American Legion.
Preceding Tim in death are his parents, Herman and Violet; father and mother-in-law: Phil and Mary Jane Schiller; sister: Lonie (Bill) Ross; brothers-in-law: Tony Schiller and Larry Schiller and nephew Matthew Schiller.
Tim is survived by his loving wife Mary Kay; sons: Paul (Becky Blanchard); and Mark (Tasha Grangruth); grandchildren: Brady, Gavin, Lex, Landon, and Kendall; brother-in-law: Phil (Karen) Schiller; sisters-in-law: Linda Buising; and Mary Beth Nehl; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
