Theodore Edward Enger was born on May 24, 1934 in Nashwauk, Minnesota. His parents were the late Theodore C. and Evelyn L. (Lambert) Enger. Theodore graduated from the Nashwauk High School with the class of 1952. After high school Theodore attended the Hibbing Community College for 2 years before transferring to St. Cloud State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. He then would go on to teach math in Staples.

Theodore Edward Enger and Barbara Jackels were united in marriage on June 19, 1957 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with five children. They made their home in Roseville where Theodore taught at Alexander Ramsey High School and then Frank B. Kellogg High School in Little Canada, Minnesota. In 1989 Theodore retired and he and Barbara made their home Bemidji. They also made their home on Leach Lake and then Brainerd before moving to Wadena in 2015. Since 2016 Theodore has resided at the Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa, Minnesota.  Theodore enjoyed a good game of chess and bridge.

On December 17, 2020 Theodore passed away at the care center in Clarissa. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.  Preceding Theodore in death are his parents; son-in-law Dutton Helfrich; and siblings: Albert and Hilda.

Theodore is survived by his wife of 63 years Barbara Enger of Wadena; 3 daughters: Vicki Enger of Portland, Oregon; Lynne (Chuck) Benish of Union Center, Wisconsin; Vanessa (Jerry) Pontnack of Mount Morris, Illinois; 2 sons: Dave (Traci) Enger of Minnetonka; John (Maria) Enger of Crystal;1 granddaughter, Sarah Benish of White Water, Wisconsin; many other relatives and a host of friends.
