Susan Bergeson was born on March 5, 1957, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Forrest Lyle Hamilton and Bonnie Jean Haflund. She grew up in Northeast Minneapolis and attended North High School with the legendary singer and songwriter, Prince.
Susan spent four years living in Kirkland, Washington, before returning to Minnesota. In 1984, she moved to St. Louis Park, where she worked in the transportation department as a bus driver for seven years. In 2009, she relocated to Verndale, Minnesota, where she continued her career as a school bus driver for Verndale Public School. She enjoyed birdwatching and gardening.
On April 20, 2025, Susan passed away at her home in Verndale at 68 years of age. Susan’s dedication to her work and her community was evident throughout her life. She will be remembered by those who knew her. Preceding Susan in death are her parents, Forrest and Bonnie; brother, David Woolhouse; and son Roy.
Surviving Susan are her children: Jason (Jackie) Bergeson; Cory Bergeson; and Jennifer (Ed) Furman; 16 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers: Richard (Kathleen) Hamilton; Dan Hamilton; and Robert “Bob” (Maria) Hamilton; many other relatives and a host of friends.
