Shirley Elaine (Larson) Wynn

Shirley Elaine (Larson) Wynn passed away unexpectedly following a brief illness on December 31st 2025 at St. Mary’s hospital in Duluth. In Shirley’s own words she was born on the 19th day of the 10th month of 1949 to Axel & Velma Larson. She attended & graduated from Pequot Lakes High School. She was united in marriage to Douglas Wilbert Wynn on October 31, 1970, and they were blessed with 4 children.

Shirley had several jobs throughout her lifetime. Bethany’s Good Samaritan, Madden’s Resort, Zircom & Grand Casino Mille Lacs as a slot attendant being her favorite, to name a few. 

Shirley enjoyed watching sports, wildlife, her pets & grand pets, true crime shows along with spending time & talking with family & friends. She wrote & published 3 children’s books that she was very proud of. 

Shirley is survived by her pets, Snuggles and Sam of Motley; children: Sharon Wynn and her husband, Ken Yezek of Brainerd, Mark (Kim) of Motley, Tammy (Brian) Sjogren of Fergus Falls; siblings: Gloria (Mark) of Corralville IA, Alvina (Michael) of Burien Washington, Earl (Verna) of Brainerd & Marvin of Lake Shore; 4 grandchildren; She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Beverly Larson VanVickle, sister-in-law Joyce Wynn, Husband Douglas & Son Robert.

Celebration of life will be held at Pleasant Hill Community Church, 3340 72nd St Sw Pequot Lakes, MN on Saturday May 30th at 2pm
