Sheila Wiirre

Sheila Angeline Wiirre 80 of Amarillo Texas, passed away on March 18 2025.

Sheila was born February 28 1945 in Perham, Minnesota to Oswald & Elvira Wiirre. She was married at 16 to Jerry Price and had 2 daughters. She enjoyed soaking in the sun, swimming and fishing. She also loved dancing, especially to Polka and Country music.

She always had a great work ethic. She worked as a seamstress for Sears making custom drapery for many years and later worked at Amarillo Mop & Broom for 30 plus years until the age of 78.

Sheila also took great pride in her Finnish heritage. Still speaking the language with her siblings and anyone who still knew the language. She was always trying to teach everyone Finnish that would listen. One of her favorite Finnish words was "Sisu" meaning courage & strength. This word definitely represents her.

A small memorial was held in her honor. In keeping with her wishes, her body was donated to science for medical research.

She was preceded in death by her parents & brother Leon & sister Louise. She is survived by her Daughters Karen Littlejohn , Kim Bowen, 5 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.
