Shawna Lee Parks

Shawna Lee Myers Downer Parks passed away with family at her bedside on December 31, 2022 due to complications of pneumonia. Shawna was 58 years old.

Shawna was born on October 15th 1964 in Gordon Nebraska to parents Thomas Harry Myers and Lolita Rosale (Williams) Myers, and her older brothers Cashius Robert Myers and Guy Thomas Myers, where they lived until January 1965. The family then moved to Rural Nimrod Minnesota where her sister Kristina Dianne Myers was born and the family ran a dairy farm until 1974 when they moved to California. The family went where the work was and lived in California, Nebraska and South Dakota but always returned home to Minnesota where in 1976 they purchased their forever home, 2 miles south of Nimrod. This is where Shawna always considered her home.

On August 25th 1980 Shawna gave birth to the first of her four children, Angelica Marie Myers in Alliance Nebraska. Her second child, Rachel Kristina Polly Ann Sass was born February 23, 1988 in Port Huron Michigan.

DomRee Rain Downer November 12, 1993 and Adam Allen Downer September 22, 1995 both born in Park Rapids, Minnesota.

Shawna lived life hard and loved hard. She had the biggest heart you could ever know. Her passions were riding motorcycles, wrenching on cars, trucks and bikes when they broke down (and they did, alot). You could always count on Shawna if you needed tools, because on any given day you could find pliers, wrench and screwdrivers in her purse. But her biggest passion was helping people through hard times, and taking them into her home when they didn’t have one. She touched and saved many lives through this passion.

Shawna is survived by her parents Tom & Lolita Myers of Nimrod MN; ; her children, Angel Myers of Osage, MN, Rachel Sass of Nimrod, MN, DomRee Downer of Huntersville, MN and Adam Downer of Wadena MN; and siblings Cash Myers of Racine, WI, Guy Myers (Tori Myers) of Corpus Christi, TX, Krissy Estabrooks (Tim Estabrooks) of Nimrod MN. Her Grandchildren Taylor Whemas of Nimrod MN, Triston Wehmas of Osage, MN. Her Nieces and Nephews, Iana Myers, Hijinio Garnette Myers, Quinn Myers, Michelle Stigall (Seth & Anthony), Jaynelle Kopp (Jordis) and Dani Kopp (Ellis). Shawna loved her dog Peanut aka Mr. Nuts with all she had.

Shawna was preceded in death by her grandparents Cashius and Alma Myers, Robert and Violet Williams, Uncle Robert Myers, Uncle Dick Hartmann and Aunt Anita Hartman.
