Shawn Kasperson passed away unexpectedly on October 8, 2025 surrounded by loved ones at the young age of 47.
Shawn Loren Kasperson was born on June 21, 1978 to Rick and Cindy Kasperson in Wadena, Minnesota. He attended Wadena-Deer Creek school from kindergarten through graduation, graduating in 1996. After high school, he spent 2 years working for Schoon Dairy. He then worked for Polaris Industries in Osceola, Wisconsin for approximately 8 years, which started his love for welding. He decided to try a different career path and went back to school for Small Engine Mechanic (2 years). After attending school he then worked for a power sports company for one year. He quickly realized welding was his passion. This lead to his career at Pro-Tainer in Alexandria, Minnesota from then on. He was proud of his welding abilities and was relied on by others because of his capabilities.
He will be remembered for his love of hunting, riding his Harley, helping his dad with projects and most of all, family. Shawn made sure to make the most of his time spent with family. He would attend holidays, camp-outs, music festivals and community events with his siblings, children and beloved nieces and nephews.
Shawn’s greatest joy came from his family and friends. He leaves behind his parents: Rick and Cindy Kasperson of Verndale, MN. Two sisters: Shannon Ostlund of Verndale, MN and Shay (Andy) Walz of Wadena, MN. Four children: Aaron (Angela) Anderson-Grecco of Fargo, ND, Dylan Horn of Bertha, MN, Riley Kasperson of Wadena, MN and Atalie Anderson of Verndale, MN. He also leaves behind his Grandmother Wilma Leonard of Wadena, MN as well as his nieces and nephews: Alyssa and Payten Ostlund of Verndale, MN; Aubrey, Cody and Nolan Walz of Wadena, MN. His legacy will live through his children and family with everything they achieve.
