Shannon Disselbrett-Klug

Shannon Marie Schwartz was born on October 18, 1963 at Wesley Hospital in Wadena, Minnesota to Donald and Delores “Dee” (Simmons) Schwartz. Shannon attended St. Ann’s Parochial School until the 6th grade and graduated from the Wadena High School with the class of 1982. She attended Wadena Vocational Technical College in Wadena where she studied merchandising and business management.

Shannon married Chet Disselbrett on June 26, 1982 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Wadena. They were married for 22 years as their marriage was blessed with four children: Chad, Chris, Brandon and Cassie.

Shannon was employed at Tri-County Hospital for over 20 years where she was a Dietary Aid and an EMT for 12 years. She continued her education and became a massage therapist. Shannon has owned and operated Cool Breeze Massage in Ottertail and was specifically requested from several celebrities to perform their massages before they played. The artists included: Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift, and Pink. In September of 2016 Shannon was united in marriage with Peter Klug.  Together they made their home in Ottertail with their 3 dogs, Bunja, Zooey, and Snickers.       

Shannon loved her motorcycle and the Ronald McDonald House RIDE. She enjoyed cake decorating, the outdoors enjoying fishing, kayaking, planting trees/flowers, enjoying the beautiful view of the lake, but mostly she loved to make people laugh and spend her time with family and friends.          

On March 16, 2018 Shannon passed away at Sanford Health in Fargo, North Dakota at 54 years of age. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.          

Shannon is survived by her parents, Donald and Delores “Dee” Schwartz of Wadena; husband, Pete Klug of Ottertail; children’s father, Chet Disselbrett of Wadena; children: Chad Disselbrett of New York Mills; Chris (Kayla) Disselbrett of Glyndon; Brandon (Sulma) Disselbrett of Wadena; Cassie Disselbrett of Fargo; step-son, Peter (Bre) Milburn of Ottertail; 8 grandchildren: Heaven, Maddie, Haylee, Justis, Heather, Rhowan, Nico and Miley; 3 brothers: Wayne (Jolene “Chip”) Schwartz of Vining; David Schwartz of Sebeka and Steven Schwartz of New York Mills; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
