Seddrex Gates was born on January 23, 1986, to his mother Jackquline “Jackie” (Gates) Wylie in Chicago, Illinois. Seddrex held a master’s in computer science and business, and he worked for Allied Universal in security. He resided in Brainerd, Minnesota and had been united in marriage with his wife, Areial (Stoecker) Gates since July 1, 2024.
Seddrex enjoyed sitting on the beach at the ocean, spending time with family and friends, and playing PS5; he loved playing a good game of spades, which he would always win. Seddrex also loved watching sports, especially the Yankees. His love for baseball extended further into his life while he would teach his stepsons how to play baseball. Aside from keeping up with sports, Seddrex would make sure to stay up to date with politics. He had a contagious smile, lighting up any room while he lived for laughs.
Seddrex was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Arabella Oberg.
Seddrex is survived by his wife, Areial Gates; stepchildren Tyler Holtz, Asher Oberg, Zayden Burcham, Maverick Burcham; his mother, Jackie Wylie; and siblings Tomika Bogan, Timothy Haney, Raven Gates, Melvin Mcabee, Anita Mcabee, and Anna Mcabee.
