Sandra Gerrard Obituary

Sandra Janeen Gerrard of Crary, North Dakota, passed away on September 6, 2022 in the loving care of her family.

Sandra was born to the late Ruth and Lloyd Bartch on October 12, 1942. She was married to Bruce Gerrard on September 17, 1960 celebrating over 60 years of marriage. Sandra is survived by her husband Bruce and two daughters Julie Ann Little of Dudley, North Carolina and Andrea Gerrard Dow of Verndale, Minnesota. She is also survived by her sister Kay Poss of Palos Verdes, California and two grandchildren, Megan Nichol Sutton of Stedman, North Carolina and Brett Bisbee Gerrard of Verndale, Minnesota as well as two great grandchildren Blakeley and Danni Sutton. She was preceded in death by her two sons Scott Bisbee Gerrard and Rollo Bruce Gerrard, as well as by her brother Bruce Bartch.

After getting married and staying home with her first three children in Bisbee ND, she and her husband moved to Devils Lake where she owned and operated the Dairy Queen. So many people in Devils Lake have commented over the years about what a wonderful job she did – whether they were customers or those that had the good fortune of working for her. After selling the Dairy Queen, she took on yet another career in real estate which brought tremendous joy to her over the years! In her later years, she enjoyed going for drives through the town and pointing out all of the houses that she once sold. There were several in town that she sold more than once. She eventually retired when she was 75 years old and her attention was appropriately placed on finally relaxing and spending time with family.

Her hobbies were her family and her plants and flowers – all of which she so tenderly took care of. She was the most loving and compassionate person you could ever meet, and her favorite saying to us was “I love you more than life itself”.

Sandra’s family is choosing a private family burial in Bisbee, North Dakota at this time and would really appreciate any special stories or favorite memories to be shared on Sandra’s CaringBridge site:
