Ruth Mary Mebust

Ruth "Ruthie" Mary Mebust, born on August 20th, 1944, in Wibaux, Montana, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Ruth was the cherished daughter of Katherine Johanna (Bohn) Hagemann and Ernest Henry Hagemann, both of whom preceded her in death. Ruth was also preceded in death by her stepsister Dorothy M. Hajek. Ruth is survived by her brother, David (Sharon) Hagemann. 

Ruthie’s spirit was one of kindness and compassion. She was especially fond of animals. She found solace and joy in nature’s beauty, taking long walks in the woods and tending to her garden. Ruth’s love of cooking, baking, canning, and creating delicious meals from scratch brought comfort to those around her, and her kitchen was always filled with warmth and the inviting aromas of her homemade creations.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Neil Mebust, who remained by her side through 47 years of marriage and every chapter of life. Husband Neil said “We never had a fight.” Ruth had no children, yet her nurturing heart extended to all living beings. From earliest childhood she most enjoyed time alone in nature. Even into late life, Ruth cherished frequent walks in the woods surrounding her home with her husband and dogs, as well as times of solitude in nature. Ruth loved her Lord Jesus and her morning devotion time. Her notes and Bible margins are filled with words of wisdom and worship. Ruth touched the lives of many through her gentle nature and generous spirit. 

Ruth leaves a legacy of love, kindness, and simple joys found in nature and home. Her unwavering legacy proves the value of a life of simplicity, love and dedication to God and family. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and those whose lives she touched.

In accordance with Ruthie's wishes, cremation rites have taken place.
