Roy Davey was born on November 15, 1949, in Aitkin, Minnesota, to Roy and Mary (Kastonek) Davey. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he fought alongside his brothers and cousin Charlie Klinnert. As a helicopter crew chief, he faced extraordinary challenges and was shot down four times during his service. His bravery and dedication were hallmarks of his military career.
After completing his GED, Roy pursued further education and earned an associate degree in Heavy Equipment Mechanics from Staples Technical College. He applied his skills with diligence and pride throughout his working life.
Roy married Kathy Thomas, and together they raised two children, Angela and Danny. He found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren, who held a special place in his heart.
In his leisure time, Roy enjoyed assembling puzzles, camping under the stars, working on model cars, and watching programs on the History Channel. He also had a fondness for watching "Dumpster Mike," which brought him many laughs.
Roy’s life was marked by resilience, service, and love for family. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
Roy’s passing is mourned by his children: Angela Davey and Danny Davey; grandchildren: Buck, Sage, Cassie (Cole) and Brayden; great-grandchildren: Bennett and Rowan; significant other Sarah Walker; siblings: Suzzy Harper, Tracy Denny, Connie Overy and Ardell (Kathleen) Davey; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Roy is preceded into death by his parents; grandson Alec Davey; siblings: Clifford Spraklin, David Sparklin, Elise (Keith) Boldra; brothers-in-law: Gary Harper and LeRoy Denny; and daughter-in-law Sherry Davey.
