Roslyn Lubitz Obituary

Roslyn Gail Janke was born on September 19, 1941 at home in Evergreen Township, rural Frazee, Minnesota.  Her parents  were the late Howard Paul and Anna Bertina (Eklund) Janke. She was baptized on January 9, 1942 and confirmed on May 9, 1955 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Evergreen Township, rural Frazee, Minnesota.

Roslyn went to country school at District #53 for seven years and graduated from the Frazee High School with the class of 1959.

On October 10, 1959 Roslyn was united in marriage with Dale Edward Lubitz at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Evergreen Township.   Their marriage was blessed with two daughters Sherry and Pam.  Roslyn and Dale resided and farmed on the Lubitz Family Farm until 2012.  She was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Corliss Township as she enjoyed taking part in Ladies Aide, teaching Sunday School and just helping wherever she saw the need.

Roslyn was a farm wife who worked hard and never complained as she took everything in stride.  She was a person of great faith with a heart of gold, she was small but very strong willed and never let a hardship be a roadblock only a building block.  She carried a kind and gentle soul and would always welcome those who did not have close families to a holiday dinner or just a moments visit and a cup of coffee.  She was very organized and timely of getting things done, but always had the patience for a phone call or a visit with her family and friends, never being judgmental and would see the good in everyone.

On June 18, 2026 Roslyn passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and the gentle care of HIA Hospice at her home in rural Perham at 84 years of age. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Preceding Roslyn in death were her parents, Howard and Anna Janke; husband Dale Lubitz; grandson, Nicholas; siblings: Warren (Charlotte) Janke; Calvin Janke; Joan Ehlers.

Surviving Roslyn are her daughters: Sherry (Arlan) Quittschreiber of Perham and Pam Johnson of Perham; 6 grandchildren: Alecia Giesler, Sarah Quittschreiber, Amanda (Cole) Thomas, Jordan Quittschreiber, Nathan Johnson (Katie) and Kayla Johnson (Nick);  Great-grandsons: Zachary and Trent Giesler and Oliver Thomas along with another great-grandchild arriving in November of 2026; siblings: Diana Arthurs of Perham; Randall (Violet) Janke of Palisade; Howard (Joan) Janke of Fort Ripley; Keith (Betty) Janke of Frazee; Jeffrey (Chris) Janke of Frazee; Arden (Emily) Janke of New York Mills; sister-in-law, Faye Janke of Battle Lake; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
