Rose Marie Roberts, born on July 18, 1949, in Perham, Minnesota, passed away at home surrounded by family on June 14, 2026, in New York Mills, Minnesota.
Rose was the beloved daughter of Wilmar and Elaine (Johnson) Roberts. She attended New York Mills High School and furthered her education at Wadena Technical School before pursuing her passion for cooking at Culinary School.
A talented and dedicated chef, Rose owned and operated The Palace Cafe in Frazee. She also shared her culinary skills with the community by cooking at the VFW in New York Mills and working at the Eagles Cafe for 11 years. Her love for cooking brought joy to many and left a lasting impression on those who enjoyed her meals.
Beyond her professional life, Rose found happiness in spending time outdoors, fishing, and being with family. She was an avid reader who enjoyed romance and mystery novels, finding comfort and adventure within their pages.
Rose is preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter Christine Marie; spouses: Ed Freudenberg and Butch Lubitz; brother Dennis Tangen.
Rose is remembered by her children: Robin Lubitz, Danny (Jackie) Lubitz, Darrin Lubitz, and James Freudenberg; two grandchildren; sister Kim (Craig) Neseth; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Rose’s memory will be cherished by all who knew her. May her legacy of warmth, kindness, and passion for life bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
