Ronald “Ron” Pulver was born on June 5, 1952, in Hazen, North Dakota. His parents are the late Phineas “Phin” and Nina (Russell) Pulver. The Pulver Family resided in Zap, North Dakota until Ron was 5 years old and then moved to Biwabik. Ron graduated from the Biwabik High School with the class of 1971. After completing high school, Ron attended Hibbing Technical College, receiving his Chef Certificate in 1973.
On December 16, 1972 Ron was united in marriage with Julie Kunnari in Aurora, Minnesota. Their loving marriage blessed them, with four children: Steven, Dan, Sara, and Mike.
Ron was employed for Perkins and the Black Bear Lounge in Hotel Duluth. He later began working at the Mills Locker plant in New York Mills and in 1983, he and Julie became the proud owners of the Mills Locker Plant until 2000. For the next 16 years Ron was employed at Dean’s Country Market in Perham before retiring happily in 2016.
Aside from his successful careers, Ron was also active in the West Central Coon and Fox Hunters Association. He indulged in restoring Mustangs, enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, farming, diamond willow designs, making sausage, watching Minnesota sports teams, cooking, and exhibiting his talent for tying knots. Above all, his highest priority was spending time with his family. Ron loved his wife, four children, fourteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many other family members immensely, as they loved him in return.
Ronald Pulver passed away unexpectedly on June 22, 2024 in rural New York Mills, Minnesota at 72 years of age. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceding Ron in death were his parents Phin & Nina Pulver and his parents-in-law, Jack & Lillian Kunnari.
