Ronald Fredrick Pikula was born on March 23, 1936, in Center Township, Crow Wing County, Minnesota. His parents were the late Fred Sylvester and Adeline Francis (Buschey) Pikula. Ron attended Country School in rural Hill City, Minnesota.
On February 1, 1958, Ron was united in marriage to Virginia “Virgie” Baumgart at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd, MN. Their marriage was blessed with four children: Lori, Marty, Trudi and Wade.
Ron and Virgie made their home in Brainerd until moving to Butler Township, rural New York Mills in 1966. Besides farming, Ron was proud to have many different jobs, Machinist, Mason and Carpenter, to name a few…
Ron and Virgie shared 43 wonderful years of marriage before her passing in 2009. Ron remained strong, finding comfort in his Faith, the love of family and friends, and in pursuing his passions for hunting, fishing, and his favorite pastime; lively socializing.
Ron passed away on October 28, 2025, at Perham Health in Perham, Minnesota. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Preceding Ron in death were his parents, Fred and Adeline; wife, Virgie; son, Wade; siblings: Kenneth, Phillip, Monica, Dwight and Keith.
Ron is survived by his children: Lori (Jeff) Maine; Marty (Jodi) Pikula; and Trudi (Tim) Pearson; grandchildren: Darielle (Tom Kotarski) Vomhof, Tausha (Jean) Pearson, Nadine (Jason) Cloward, Tawna (Joey) Schwarz, Amasa (Seth) Southard, Tessa Maine and Talia (Nate) Donoho; great-grandchildren: Anthony (Maddie) Pikula, Logan Vomhof, Jayden Cloward, Everest Pearson, Miles Pearson, Adele Cloward, Nash Southard, Marley Southard, Avett Schwarz, Solomon Mondesir and Lemonia Donoho; great-great-grandchildren: Scarlet and Hank Pikula; siblings: Rita Wgeishofski, Larry (Georgia) Pikula, Duane Pikula and Craig (Rosie) Pikula; many other relatives and a host of friends.
