Roberta Franks passed away peacefully at Mills Manor on June 15, 2024.
Roberta Ann Franks was born on February 5, 1939, in St. Paul Minnesota to Edward Pourrier and Anne Becker. She grew up in Ottertail County near Maplewood State Park and attended school in District #145 through 8th grade. Roberta later moved to Detroit, Michigan where she lived with her grandmother; and she met Robert Franks, who she would later marry after moving to Hammond, Indiana. Their marriage blessed them with two children, their daughter Roxanne and her stepdaughter Mary Jean. Sadly, Robert passed away at 41 years old in 1985. Roberta found joy in her work as a waitress where she could be a light in her customer’s day and as a janitor at the Underwood School.
Roberta is preceded in death by parents, Edward Pourrier and Ann Decker; spouse, Robert Franks; daughter, Roxanne Franks.
Roberta is survived by her stepdaughter Mary Jean (John E.) Holland; two grandchildren: Dawn Franks and Trevor Franks; three great-grandchildren: Kaleb, Kyle, and Kayley brother Robert (Violet) Pourrier; and a host of other family and friends. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her.
