Robert "Bob" Wagner Obituary

Robert Noel Wagner, age 85, of Sebeka, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, under the gentle care of Knute Nelson Hospice Care and his loving family.

Robert Noel Wagner was born on December 25, 1938, on his family’s farm in Danvers, Minnesota. His parents were the late John and Bernice (Sweno) Wagner. Robert was confirmed and baptized at the West Bank Lutheran Church. He attended Appleton High School and graduated with the class of 1956.

Soon after high school, Robert Wagner and Helen Theresa Hoppe were united in marriage on November 28, 1959, in the Good Shepard Lutheran Church, and to this union two children were born. The couple made their home in Long Lake, Minnesota for 30 years.

Robert served in the United States Army Paratroopers 82 from 1956 to 1958 and was stationed in Fort Braggs. He also attended the Hennepin Technical college until 1980. He worked at many different jobs but retired from Wayzata Schools with 20 years of service as the Head Custodian.

Robert and Helen enjoyed their retirement by turning their farm into a habitat for wildlife.

Robert also enjoyed hunting ducks, bear, deer, elk, moose, and antelope. He also enjoyed fishing in the summer and winter, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, camping, bird watching, gardening, and spending time with friends and family.

Deeply loved, Robert’s passing will be mourned by is his loving wife of 64 years Helen Wagner; son: Robert (Mary) Wagner II of Menahga; granddaughters: Cinda (Levi) Huff of Nimrod, Amy (Cris) Wagner of New Ulm, Randi Wagner of Park Rapids, Hanna (Cris) Gesinger of Watertown; great-grandchildren: Colton, April, Tobias, Tyler, Corey, Landon, Mya, Katelyn, Nathan, Bailey, Zoey, Scarlett, Summer, Leo, Payton, and Jaxon; brother: Dan (Sheri) Wagner of Park Rapids; and many other relatives and a host of friends.

Preceding Robert in death are his parents John and Bernice Wagner; daughter: Teresa Gesinger; seven brothers and sisters; in laws: Al and Arlene Hoppe.

His wishes were to have a memorial service at a later date. Rest in Peace Bob.
