Richard Edward Kovar, age 89, of Wadena, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Battle Lake, Minnesota.
Richard Edward Kovar was born on April 14, 1935, in Wadena, Minnesota to Edward and Elsie (Erhke) Kovar. He attended school up until the 10th grade before focusing on farming.
Soon after high school, Richard was united in marriage to Fayette Zaske on June 16, 1956, in Hewitt, Minnesota and to this union five children were born.
Richard and his wife Fayette were dairy farmers. He enjoyed hunting and woodworking in his spare time. His family meant the world to him, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Deeply loved, Richard’s passing will be mourned by his wife of 68 years Fayette; his children: Kathryn (David) Biel, Nancy (Harry) Rach, Daniel (Jane) Kovar, and Mary Lou (Randy) Camenzind; son-in-law Steven Greenwood; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; siblings: Joseph Kovar, Betty Crabb, and Joyce Wegscheid; many other relatives and a host of friends.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Patricia “Patty” Greenwood; great-granddaughter Lilliana Filipi; nieces and nephews.
