Randy Lee Lubitz was born on January 12, 1960, in Perham, MN, the son of Ruben and Cecelia (Schave) Lubitz. He was Baptized and Confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Corliss Township. He grew up on a farm in Corliss Township and in 1975 his parents retired and moved to the New York Mills area. For a short time he worked and lived in California. He was united in marriage to Martha/Kathy in 1978. Divorced in 1982.
He is especially remembered for his artistic talent. He attended the Detroit Lakes Area Vocational-Technical Institute for Graphic/Sign Painting in 1984. For a time, he and his friend started a business called the SignDoctor, that was located in Perham. He also was a cook at various restaurants, including the Eagles Café.
He was united in marriage to Nadine (Johnson) and Divorced in 1986. His two joys were having his dog, who he named Baby Girl Trixy. He spoiled her so much that he carried her everywhere and his motorcycle. He then was married to Melody and Divorced in 1988. He continued to live in New York Mills next to his parents doing odds and ends. Over time, pain came from his past heart and hip surgeries and took a toll on his body and he could not work anymore. In April of 2023, he was moved to Mills Manor Assisted living, where he spent his last year.
He is preceded in death by his infant sibling; brother Edgar; sister Gloria Boucher; Father; Mother and his brother Loren.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews and a few close friends.
