Ramon Lester Moench was born on December 1, 1938 to Frederick and Jennie (Berry) Moench in Wadena, Minnesota. The Moench family moved numerous times during his childhood years, settling permanently in Wadena, Minnesota. Ramon was employed at Southside Grocery Store, Bowling Alley and Madison Silo Company. He then enlisted and honorably served in the United States Army from March 21, 1957 to March 9, 1960.
On January 19, 1961, Ramon was united in marriage to Sandra (Sandy) Syverson at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wadena. Their marriage was blessed with a son: Roman. Together they made their home in Wadena. Ramon managed a Texaco Station, worked as an autobody repairman at Goetz-Everson Motors and then established his own business: Moench Auto Detailing. He enjoyed backhoe work following his retirement in 1995.
Ramon enjoyed Volkswagens, Jeeps, and motorcycles. He liked to spend his time outdoors fishing, hunting (mostly lunching), and snowmobiling. He loved his dogs, tinkering and inventing, having friends over for coffee, and making people laugh.
On May 13, 2020 Ramon passed away at his home at 81 years of age under the care of his family and Knute Nelson Hospice. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceding Ramon in death are his parents; siblings: Lou Ella; Mardelle; Loel; Mae; Joy; Lavonne; Fritz; Lyle; Bud; Ruby; Virgil; Lois; Darrell; Cecil; Phyllis; and Duane.
Ramon is survived by his loving wife: Sandy; son: Roman (Barb) Moench; 2 grandchildren: Todd Moench; and Kyle Moench; brother: Gordon (Myrna) Moench; many other relatives and a host of friends.
