Rachel Suzanne Larson, 45, of Deer Creek, Minnesota, formerly of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 27, 2026, at her home in Deer Creek.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. An open house Celebration of Life will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Karvonen Funeral Home in Wadena, MN.
Rachel Suzanne Larson was born on September 22, 1980, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Ronald Roggenkamp and Thelma Neal. She was raised alongside her brother, Richard, and graduated from Olathe High School in Olathe, Kansas, in May of 1999.
Rachel will be remembered for her positive spirit and the warmth she brought to those around her. She had a natural way of making people feel welcome, often greeting others with a smile that never seemed to fade. She was employed at Holiday Station Stores in Wadena, where she became a familiar and friendly face to many, always welcoming customers with a smile and kind attitude.
She had a deep love for animals and, in her younger years, enjoyed traveling and experiencing new places. Rachel also had a special fondness for Hello Kitty, a simple joy that reflected her lighthearted and caring nature. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with her friends and family. She was thoughtful, loving, and genuine, truly someone who carried a heart of gold.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her mother, Thelma (Jim) Pirtle of Deer Creek, MN; her father, Ron (Annette) Roggenkamp of Mora, MN; her brother, Richard Roggenkamp; her grandmother, Betty Handley; and a host of extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her uncle Johnnie, her aunt Charlie, and her cousins Karen Crews and Blake “The Boss” Neal.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
