Paul Berton Weyrens was born on June 3, 1941 in Willmar, MN. The son of Nick and Laura (Schwankle). He married Jane (Halvorson) Ladwig on August 30, 1975. He grew up in the Fergus Falls area. Upon graduation he joined the United States Navy, serving his country for six years. Paul worked as a human services technician. He loved radio broadcasting, especially farm broadcasting and working with the FFA members. He worked for the Soil and Water Conservation Service. He enjoyed seeing all the tree plantings they did in the district. He also worked in retail. Upon retirement, he and his wife, Jane, worked at the Vining Lutheran Church as secretaries.
Paul is survived by his wife, Jane; sons: Troy (Jill) Ladwig, Tom (Steph) Ladwig; daughters: Dawn Kerr, Kerri Weyrens, Tracy (Doug) Wilson; grandchildren: Colten Ladwig, Ashley Ladwig, Logan Ladwig, Mariah (Myles) Duval, Derek Fry, Deren (Hannah) Fry, Jessica (Adicus) Gassman, Jacob (Emma) Wilson; great-grandchildren: Beasley and Lakin Fry, Clara Fry and Sophia Gassman; sisters: Pat Weyrens, Deb Frimon; brother, Nick Weyrens; sister-in-law, Pat Volden; brother-in-law, Gene Volden. He loved being “Uncle Buzzy” to all his special nieces and nephews.
Preceding Paul in death were his parents, Nick and Laura Weyrens, in-laws, Walt and Myrt Halvorson and brother, Bill Weyrens.
