Nicholas Snyder Jr.

Nicholas Alvin Snyder, Jr. was born on May 8, 1973 at the Wesley Hospital in Wadena, Minnesota.  His parents are Jane (Eckhoff) Snyder and the late Nicholas James Snyder.  He was baptized on June 9, 1973 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Bluffton, Minnesota.  He was confirmed on March 19, 1989 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Henning, Minnesota. He attended Wadena-Deer Creek High School and graduated with the Class of 1992.

After high school Nicholas was employed in construction. He enjoyed driving, and riding in the truck all over with his trucker friends. Nicholas was a handyman, liked doing lawn care and snow removal for friends and neighbors. He loved the outdoors, especially gardening, cutting wood and recycling.

On March 3, 2020 Nicholas passed away unexpectedly at his home in Deer Creek at 46 years of age.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceding Nicholas in death were his grandparents: Nicholas and Esther Snyder and Alvin and Jewel Eckhoff; his father, Nicholas James Snyder Sr.; and uncles: Ron Snyder, Pete Snyder and Mark Snyder.

Nicholas is survived by his mother, Jane Snyder of Wadena; sisters: Kim Barthel of Wahpeton, ND and Amanda (Dan) Mueller of Henning; nieces and nephews: Keenan, Dylan, Noah, Samuel, Jordan, Allie and Lilly; many other relatives and a host of friends.
