Neil Hanson, born on January 27, 1951, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, passed away on February 12, 2025, in Sebeka, Minnesota.
Neil graduated from high school in 1969 and went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force for four years. Following his military service, he attended Detroit Lakes VoTech, where he pursued engineering studies. He later built a career in construction and became a skilled carpenter known for crafting beautiful pieces with precision and care.
On October 20, 1973, Neil married Debra "Deb" Hanson after meeting through her brother during a deer hunting trip. Their life together was filled with love and shared experiences, as well as a blessing in the form of a son: Corey.
Neil had a passion for making knives and enjoyed hunting. He was known for his big heart and unique spirit, leaving a lasting impression on those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Debra; his son, Corey (Alexandra) Hanson; three brothers; brother-in-law Lonnie (Patricia) Lapinoja; nephews Nathan and Justin; and great-nephew Theodore. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cliffard and Edna Hanson.
Neil’s craftsmanship and kindness will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
