Michael James Leeseberg was born January 26, 1944 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. His parents were the late Floyd and Jewel (Wemstrom) Leeseberg. Michael attended Wadena High School, graduating with the class of 1962. On December 16, 1962, he was united in marriage to Adele Fischer at the United Methodist Church in Wadena. Their marriage was blessed with five children: Kristi, Kimberly, Darin, Troy and Paula.
They made their home in Wadena where Michael was employed with Goetz-Eversons Motors as a mechanic. He also worked at Co-op where he specialized in tire repair and eventually became the manager. In 1997 Michael and Adele relocated to Colorado where he installed windows, fireplaces, and foundation materials for new homes until retiring in 2016. Michael and Adele returned to make their home in Wadena.
Michael enjoyed woodworking, plumbing, electrical and loved hockey, especially the Colorado Avalanche and Wadena Hockey Association where he coached for thirteen years.
Michael passed away peacefully at Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena, Minnesota on May 25, 2023 at 79 years of age. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceding him in death are his parents Floyd and Jewel; sons-in-law David Webster and Dan Ellison.
Deeply loved, Michael’s passing will be mourned by his beloved wife Adele of Wadena; daughters: Kristi Webster of Franktown, Colorado, Kimberly Ellison of Big Fork, Montana, and Paula (Joshua) Gray of Parker, Colorado; sons: Darin (Lisa) Leeseberg of Wadena, and Troy (Jill) Leeseberg of Miltona; 20 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sister Janice Hartwig of Alexandria; many other relatives and a host of friends.
