Mary Lou Vigurs was born on March 3, 1935, in Butte, Montana. Her parents were the late Hedely and Katherine (Kriskovich) Vigurs. Mary Lou graduated from Butte High School with the class of 1953. Following graduation, Mary Lou worked as a secretary in Butte.
On February 1, 1954, Mary Lou was united in marriage with Leonard Hendrickson in Superior, Montana. Their marriage was blessed with 5 children. Together Mary Lou and Leonard made their home in Butte, Montana where Mary Lou was employed at St. James Hospital in the laundry department and Leonard was employed with the Anaconda Copper Mining Company. In 1973 Mary Lou and Leonard moved to Vergas, Minnesota. Mary Lou worked at West Central Turkey Plant and SJ Electro in Detroit Lakes until her retirement. She spent a lot of time helping Leonard in the woods, which they sold and delivered many chords of. Leonard passed away on November 14, 2008.
Mary Lou enjoyed bowling for years, winning the All Events in the Montana State Bowling Tournament in 1968. She enjoyed water skiing and went skiing at age 75. Mary Lou and Leonard spent a lot of time dancing together. Mary Lou prepared many wonderful meals for family and friends. She cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.
Preceding Mary Lou in death were her parents; husband: Leonard; daughter, Diane Hendrickson; and brother: Hedley (Charolette) Vigurs.
Mary Lou is survived by her sons: Ron (Nancy) Hendrickson of Butte, Montana; and Jim (Machele) Hendrickson of Butte, Montana; daughters: Brenda (Wayne) Hayden of Moorhead; Karen (Tom) Bunkowski of Vergas; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Carol Drechsel of Fergus Falls; Lorraine Harris of Brooklyn Center; Carolyn Hendrickson of Brooklyn Park; brothers-in-law: Walter (Joyce) Hendrickson of Butte, Montana; Arlan Hendrickson of Dallas, Texas; and also many other relatives and a host of friends.
