Mary Humphrey

Mary Ellen (Nyhus) Humphrey was born on March 21,1941 to Eves Lucille (Anderson) Nyhus and Bert Nyhus. They resided in Henning, Minnesota. She was the oldest of the four children. Burton, Gary and twins: Gloria Jean and Grant James Nyhus. Mary graduated from High School in 1959 and Nursing School in 1962.

She lived in many cities but really loved Duluth. Mary lived in Riverview Heights in Moorhead, Minnesota for 25 years. For the last couple years, she resided at the Henning Nursing Home and then the Pelican Rapids Nursing Home.

In 1970, Mary was united in marriage to Samuel R. Humphrey at the United Lutheran Church in Henning. They later divorced. Mary enjoyed people very much. She was exceedingly kind, supportive and could make anyone smile. Mary was full of God. She was guided by her strength and faith. She loved to explore new places and meet new people. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, playing bingo and chatting with people.  Mary had many friends she loved, especially her friends at Riverview Heights.

On December 20, 2020 Mary passed away at Pelican Valley Senior Living in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota at 79 years of age. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Mary is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her dear friend, Bonita Fjestad.
