Mary Claflin

Mary Joyce Claflin of Sebeka, Minnesota sadly passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024, at the age of 78, surrounded by her family.

Mary was born on May 15, 1946, to William and Viola (Johnson) Kari of Menahga, Minnesota. After attending Menahga area schools, she married Gilbert Claflin on January 14, 1962. Though her marriage to Gil ended, they had three children together: Lorre, Larry and Linda.

After many years of being a homemaker and working various housekeeping jobs, Mary retired and enjoyed spending time with her dogs and family. Mary was an avid collector.

Preceding Mary in death are her parents: William and Viola; sister: Elsie Eiler; and Ailie Pettit; and daughter: Linda Claflin.

Mary is survived by her children: Lorre (Tom) Rhodes of Salem, Oregon; Larry (Cathy) Claflin of Rockport, Texas; brother: Evert Kari of Bloomington, Minnesota; granddaughters: Kayla (James) Ewing of Forest Grove, Oregon; Kimberly (Shane) May of Little Falls, Minnesota; and Kristen Rhodes of Forest Grove, Oregon; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
