Marilyn Stenger

Marilyn Margaret Moltzan was born on September 20, 1937 in Dent, Minnesota. Her parents were the late William Earnest and Anna Mathilda (Stollenwerk) Moltzan. Marilyn attended country school at District #144 and #244 in Star Lake Township. She graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1955. Marilyn also attended Fergus Falls Community College and Moorhead Teachers College.

On April 2nd ,1959, Marilyn was united in marriage with Laurence Morrison Stenger at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dent, MN. Their marriage was blessed with six children. Marilyn and Laurence resided and farmed in Dora Township, and owned and operated Precast Concrete Products. Laurence passed away on December 25th, 2006. Marilyn retired from Arvig in Perham after 15 years of service.

Marilyn has been a caregiving volunteer with Lakeland Hospice for many years. She enjoyed playing accordion, making jellies, and baking breads for family and friends. Marilyn was a charter member of the Christian Mothers and has been a lifetime member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dent, MN.

Preceding Marilyn in death were her parents; husband: Laurence; sisters Lois Reed, Delores Luedtke, Jolene Moltzan, and Helen Thielke; brothers: Leonard and William Moltzan. Marilyn is survived by her sister: Elizabeth Lee of Woodville, WI: daughters: Geraldine (Mark) Van Santen of Battle Lake; Linda (Darrell) Lende of Erskine; Patricia (Jerry) Klatt of Vergas; and sons: Kenneth (Kimberly) Stenger of Dent; Dcn. Mark (Joan) Stenger of Frazee; Thomas (Tammy) Stenger of Flandreau, SD; 15 Grandchildren: Richie Stenger, Katie Stenger, Brittany Solting, Brandon Van Santen, Timothy Van Santen, Amanda Lende, Abby Lende, James Stenger, Eddie Stenger, Nancy Ellering, Andrew Stenger, Adam Stenger, Ashley Maly, Jesse Klatt, Jay Klatzer; 13 great-grandchildren: Hudson, Barrett, Ruby, Amelia, Evelyn, Natalie, Isabel, Luke, Levi, Olivia, Adeline, Abigail, and Raelynn.
