Marilyn Joyce Wilson was born on January 8, 1938, to Herbert and Harriet (Engel) Wilson in Graceville, MN. She attended Graceville High School, graduating with the class of 1955.
On January 15, 1956, Marilyn was united in marriage to Ronald “Ron” James in Graceville, MN. Their marriage was blessed with four children: twins Valorie & Renee, Keith and David. Together they made their home in Graceville, Watkins and Minneapolis. During her years in Minneapolis, Marilyn enjoyed her career at Woolworth Department store. She loved fashion and the city atmosphere. In 1983, Marilyn and Ronald made their home in Vining, MN. Marilyn continued her long career at Woolworth’s and helped care for the many animals her and Ronald had on their dairy farm.
Marilyn participated in many activities in the Vining Lutheran Church she attended. She was involved in the choir and Bible study. She loved music and photography. She also had a green thumb and was an avid flower gardener. She will be remembered by those who knew her as a kind caring woman and was well-liked by many.
On September 19, 2021, Marilyn passed away at St. Williams Living Center in Parkers Prairie, MN at 83 years old. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. Preceding in death are her parents: Herbert and Harriet; son: David; grandson; Jason; siblings: Dick, Herbert Jr., Donald, Delores, and Shirley.
Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 65 years: Ronald James of Henning; daughters: Valorie Schatzlein of Fergus Falls; Renee (Guy) Blechinger of Ham Lake, and son, Keith James of St. Cloud; 5 grandchildren: Tom, Sarah, Kaylee, Josh and Laura; 4 great-grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends.
