Margaret Geraldine Zeise was born on December 29, 1931 to Wilfred and Alida (Macklenburg) Hanebuth in Wadena, Minnesota. She attended District #206 Inman Township Country School, then Deer Creek High School, graduating with the class of 1951.
On April 6, 1952 Margaret was united in marriage to Gerald Zeise at Trinity Lutheran Church in Deer Creek, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with four children: Daryl, Jerry, Gary, and Mary.
Margaret was employed as a nanny in Minneapolis, Minnesota for a short time. They moved in a boxcar to Gerald’s folks’ family farm and made their home there for three years. In 1955 Margaret and Gerald purchased the family farm in Compton Township farming hand in hand and raising their family. In 1990, Margaret and Gerald retired from farming and made their home in Deer Creek, Minnesota.
Margaret ran “Margaret’s E-Z Ceramics” from her home where she enjoyed the ladies who came to her classes. Margaret enjoyed gardening and selling at the farmers market. She belonged to the local Homemakers, Garden, and Saddle Clubs and was involved in 4-H when her children were growing up. Margaret was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She loved her coffee and she loved anyone who took the time to enjoy a cup with her.
On October 29, 2023 Margaret passed away at Lakewood Health Care Center at 91 years of age. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Preceding Margaret in death are her parents: Wilfred and Alida; and her husband, Gerald.
Margaret is survived by her children: Daryl (Judy) Zeise of Deer Creek; Jerry (Deborah) Zeise of Cambridge; Gary (Laura) of Wadena and Mary (Jeff Mattson) Zeise of Baxter; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister: Carol Perisian; sister-in-law: Dorothy Waskosky; many other relatives and a host of friends.
