He graduated from Marshall High School with the class of 1966.  Lynn continued his education at Minnesota West Community & Technical College in Canby.  He received a mechanical degree and was employed with the Minnesota Highway Department until 1976.

On March 27, 1981 Lynn was united in marriage with Cindy Schmidt at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wadena, Minnesota.

Lynn was employed with the United Parcel Service (UPS) in Wadena, Minnesota until his retirement.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter.  Lynn enjoyed gardening, riding motorcycle, reloading ammunition, sporting clays, bird watching, HAM radios, restoring old vehicles and was especially proud of his “65” Mustang.   He was a past member of Ducks Unlimited, Pheasant’s 4ever, Knobhill Sportsman Club, Deer Hunters Association, and the Wadena Elks Club.
