Lyle Hodgden Obituary

Lyle Gene Hodgden was born on June 19, 1968, in Anamosa, Iowa to Kenneth Lee and Carol (Council) Hodgden. Lyle graduated from the Menahga High School with the class of 1987. On September 4, 1988, Lyle was united in marriage with Brenda Lee Haverinen in Iowa. Their marriage was blessed with 3 children: Jennifer, Tyler, and Amber.

Lyle had many passions. His greatest love was God, closely followed by his wife, children, grandchildren, and many bonus children. His family not only included those by birth but a large circle of those close to him. The Hodgden family resided in Waseca, Minnesota for three years as Lyle was employed in concrete. In 1990, they made their home in Menahga and in 1991, Lyle began Hodgden Logging. Lyle was ordained and enjoyed sharing his love for the Lord. He baptized and married numerous loved ones. Logging was a huge part of what made Lyle, Lyle. He made it a family business taking Tyler in the semi as a young boy, having Jen in the woods, continuing with grandkids and extended family. Lyle also enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Family time was spent around the grill weekly.

On March 28, 2024, Lyle passed away at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota at 55 years of age. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceding Lyle in death was his father, Kenneth Sr and brother, James Hodgden.

Lyle is survived by his loving wife of 35 years: Brenda Hodgden of Menahga; mother: Carol Hodgden of Menahga; children: Jennifer (Dan) Maninga of Menahga; Tyler (Riley) Hodgden of Menahga; and Amber (Jeffrey) Rockensock of Park Rapids; ten grandchildren: Jayden Hillukka, Elijah Maninga, Brenda Maninga, Karson Hodgden, Jaxson Hodgden, Arianna Hodgden, Jacob Hodgden, Madilyn Hodgden, Oaklynn Rockensock and Waylon Rockensock; siblings: Karenlynn Hodgden-Hurt of Iowa; Ken Jr. (Sue) Hodgden of Menahga; Bill (Tracy) Hodgden of Perham; and Tom Hodgden of Menahga; many other relatives and a host of friends.
