Lois Weis

Lois Lucille Lillis was born on July 23, 1933 on Curry Island on Dead Lake, rural Richville, MN. Her parents were the late Ned and Pauline (Schmidt) Lillis.  She attended Perham High School.

On July 27, 1953 Lois was united in marriage to Ralph Anthony Weis at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dent, Minnesota.  Their marriage was blessed with seven children.

Lois loved everyone at all times. If you knew her, you knew that she loved you. Her favorite times were spent with her husband and forever sweetheart, Ralph and being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.

She was the matriarch of the family, always there providing love, understanding and grace. She believed in the power of forgiveness and finding her self-worth.  She valued her “me time” and importance of always learning and improving herself and finding the silver lining in everything.

Her hobbies included entertaining, polka dancing, traveling, camping, gardening, bread making, being an artist, sewing, being in nature, healthy eating and taking her daily walks.

On March 27, 2021 Lois passed away at her home at 87 years of age.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.  Preceding Lois in death were her parents; sister, Geraldine Lillis; brothers: Junior, Paul and Jack.

Lois is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Ralph of Richville; children: Susan Callahan of Richville; Jeffrey Weis of Richville; Jennifer Moore of Ottertail; James (Kayla) Weis of Sitka, Alaska; Kim (Jeff) Wells of Richville; Ken (Sandy) Weis of Richville; and Janelle (David) Lass of Sitka, Alaska; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; sister, Janet Papenfuss of Perham; brother, Eddie Lillis of Detroit Lakes; many other relatives and a host of friends.
