Lois Ann (Doane) Frigaard, age 93, of Perham, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Perham Health Hospital with her children by her side.
Lois Ann Doane was born on September 29, 1931, to Burr and Mildred (Shill) Doane. Lois spent her early childhood years near Newton; Kellogg; and Marshalltown, Iowa during the Great Depression as the second of four children. The family moved to Robbinsdale, Minnesota at the start of WWII when her father got a job making armaments at Northern Pump.
Lois attended Robbinsdale High School graduating as part of the class of 1949. There she met the love of her life James (Jim) Marlin Frigaard and the couple was united in marriage on March 5, 1951. They had 3 children: Craig, Mark, and Jule Ann. The couple made their home in Robbinsdale where Lois was a proud and very involved wife, mother and homemaker.
One of Lois's greatest joys was flower arranging. She was a legend at her local flower club for the numerous blue ribbons she won at their annual flower shows, being widely admired for her unique creations and beautiful designs. She was also a master at interior design and always had beautifully decorated homes. Lois enjoyed her down time reading, sewing, and doing various crafts, especially working with mosaic tiles, board games and puzzles.
Lois loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her love of travel meant she initially had to "convince" Jim to travel; but once they got back from their first trip to Hawaii, he was hooked, and they began to travel the world together. They went to Greece, the Canary Islands, Mexico, and took several cruises to the Caribbean. One memorable adventure was a month-long trip to Alaska with Jim; a trip she later recreated with her children as her 80th birthday present, 30 years later.
Deeply loved, Lois will be mourned by her children: Craig (Lisa), Mark (Brenda), and Jule Patron; her eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; siblings Adra Roff and Russell Wayne Doane; many other relatives and a host of friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband Jim, parents Burr and Mildred, sister Alberta Ashford, and favorite son-in-law Michael Patron.
