Lester Kimber

Lester Kenneth Kimber was born on October 8, 1945 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. His parents were the late Harry and Eleanor (Mann) Kimber. Lester graduated from Henning High School with the class of 1961. He was a life-long resident of Henning except for the time he served in the United States Navy. Lester honorably served in the United States Navy from July 23, 1963 to July 22, 1969.

On November 28, 1970, Lester was united in marriage with Judy K. Hanson in Otter Tail County, Minnesota. Lester and Judy made their home in rural Henning. Lester’s working career included carpentry, electrician, and working at the Mobil station. Then, in the mid 1980’s, he owned and operated Kimber Auto until his retirement. He passed the business on to his son, Dondi, where he continued to enjoy repairing automobiles.

Lester died on Monday, October 29, 2018 at Good Samaritan Society in Battle Lake, Minnesota. Preceding in death by his parents; wife Judy; and brother Harry Kimber, Jr.

Some of Lester’s interests included listening to music, collecting vinyl records, and going to car shows. Lester will be remembered by his children: Keith (Connie) Kimber of Fergus Falls; Dondi (Sheree) Kimber of Henning; bonus son: Cory Jarrott of San Clemente, CA; grandchildren: Gunnar Kimber of Underwood; Bryce Rach of Henning; Brennen Volkmann of Henning; Jenna Volkmann of Henning; sister: Dorothy Kimber; brothers-in-law: Dave (Mary) Hanson of Ottertail; Melvin Hanson of Ottertail; many other relatives and a host of friends.
