LaVern Lydia Comstock was born on August 8, 1926 to Emry and Laura (Kregger) Comstock in Clinton Township, North Dakota. She attended school in Alexander, North Dakota up to her 8th grade year.
LaVern was then employed at Weston Oil in Williston, North Dakota. She drove bulk truck, changed tires and oil and fueled vehicles.
In 1944, LaVern was united in marriage to Lorne Rogers in Sydney, Montana. Their marriage was blessed with five children: Donna, Terry, Gaile, Tim, and Harvey. The family made their home in Williston before moving to Everett, Washington where LaVern was employed at Standard Oil. In 1967 Lorene passed away. In 1968 LaVern moved to rural Henning, Minnesota. Shortly after, she made her home in Wadena, Minnesota. LaVern worked as a custodian for the Wadena Schools for 10 years.
LaVern enjoyed visiting with family and friends, listening to her books on tape. She also enjoyed reading Louis L’Amour books before her eyesight failed her.
On April 30, 2020, LaVern passed away at Perham Living, Perham, Minnesota at 93 years of age. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Preceding LaVern in death are her parents; husband; daughter: Gaile; and son: Terry.
LaVern is survived by her daughter: Donna (Duane) Horn; sons: Tim (Jane) Rogers; Harvey (Kathy) Rogers; sister: Peggy Goeson and many grandchildren, great grandchildren many other relatives and a host of friends.
