Katy Ellenson

Katy Lynn Ellenson, age 38, of Alexandria, Minnesota passed away on November 3, 2025, at her home.

Katy Lynn Ellenson was born on May 5, 1987, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota to Steven and Kelly (Johnston) Ellenson. She was baptized and confirmed at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Henning, Minnesota. Katy attended Henning High School and graduated from Battle Lake High School as part of the class of 2005. She went on to further her education at MN-State Technical College, earning her associate’s degree in nursing.

Katy was blessed to have three children Jackson, Jameson, and Riley with their father Kasey Dillon.

Katy worked many jobs including waitressing, bartending, care centers and hospice homes. When she moved to Alexandria, she worked at LSC financial and lastly Menards.

Katy enjoyed camping, biking, cooking, car races and the Blizzard Hockey Games. Spending time with the family she loved dearly and taking care of them. She was a very kind, caring and selfless soul to all those who knew her.

Over the years, Katy faced profound personal struggles. Yet, these challenges do not define the beautiful life she lived or the love she gave so freely. Her journey was marked by courage, and she will be remembered with deep love, compassion, and admiration. May she rest in peace now.

Katy is preceded in death by her grandparents; Robert and Lila Johnston, and Norman Ellenson; and her cousin Travis Ellenson.

Deeply loved, Katy’s passing will be mourned by her children: Jackson, Jameson, and Riley; father of the children: Kasey Dillon; her parents Steven and Kelly Ellenson; grandparent Rita Ellenson; siblings: Marty (Mandy) Ellenson, Mallory (Ethan) Loock, and Mitchell (Kayla) Ellenson; nieces and nephews: Wyatt, Easton, Liam, and Brynleigh Ellenson, Shelby and Bridget Loock, and Nora Ellenson; and special friend Joe Hermes.
