Kari Ranell Herr, age 50, of Fargo, North Dakota, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at HIA Heather’s House surrounded by her family.
Kari Ranell Herr was born on March 26, 1975, in Wadena, Minnesota to Jack Herr and Nancy Nelson. She attended and graduated from New York Mills High School as part of the class of 1993.
Kari worked numerous jobs throughout her life having her move around the Minnesota and North Dakota states. She especially enjoyed working at daycares and with the disabled. Kari was great with children, and her friends often came to her for help when their children were driving them crazy.
Kari was blessed to have a son named Carson who became her world. She loved spending time with Carson, her family and her friends. Kari went to many New Kids on the Block concerts and followed them across the country. She was an excellent seamstress, and she enjoyed baseball and going shopping. Kari loved animals, having numerous cats and dogs as pets over the years.
Deeply loved, Kari’s passing will be mourned by her son Carson; parents: Jack (Judy Mrnak) Herr and Nancy (Dan Schmoll) Nelson; grandmother Carol Kampsula; siblings Jason (Laci Qualls) Herr and Ashley Herr; stepsiblings Justin Schmoll, Danielle Deering, and Jessica Ellestad; many numerous other relatives and friends.
Kari is preceded in death by her grandparents, aunts Judy Beckman and Ellen Mihokanich, uncle James Herr, and numerous beloved pets.
