Karen Marie Koehnen was born on March 9, 1944 in Seattle, Washington. Her parents were the late Verle and Rhoda (Flatau) Koehnen. Karen grew up in Lodi, California where she graduated from the Lodi High School with the class of 1963.
She resided in Minneapolis for a short time and in the early 70’s she made her home in Frazee, Minnesota where she was employed at the turkey plant and then as a nursing assistant. Karen has recently made her home at Diamond Willow in Detroit Lakes.
On March 10, 2020 Karen passed away at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota at 76 years of age. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Karen is survived by her 4 sisters: Donna (Tom) Ulschmid of Frazee; Toni (Jim) Loerzel of Perham; Diane Koehnen of Waldport, Oregon; Rita Koehnen of Waldport, Oregon; 4 brothers: Gary (Susan) Koehnen of Oregon; Jon Koehnen of Oregon; Steve (Deana) Koehnen of Fargo; Mark (Connie) Koehnen of Frazee; many loving nieces, nephew, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
