Josephine Violet Barker was born October 19, 1934 to Orlin and Louise (Leeseberg) Barker in Inman Township, Minnesota. She graduated from Henning High School with the class of 1952.
Josephine worked at the turkey processing plant in Wadena, Minnesota after graduating high school in Henning, Minnesota. Then she went to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to work in a distribution center. She returned to Henning to work. In 1954 Josephine moved to Dayton, Ohio and married Bernard Price in Connersville, Indiana.
After their marriage they moved to Spokane, Washington where Bernard was stationed in the Air Force for a year. There Josephine had her daughter Barbara Ann. Then she and Barbara moved back to Minnesota while Bernard was transferred to Formosa for a year. His next transfer took Josephine and Barbara to Limestone, Maine, where Josephine had her son Spencer Lee. After a year Josephine’s little family went to Japan for three years.
In 1963 Josephine came back to Dayton and traveled to Texas for her daughter Barbara Ann’s medical treatments. After Barbara Ann passed in 1964 Josephine and Spencer moved to Perham, Minnesota and Josephine had her second son Patrick in 1966. In 1967, Bernard was transferred to Miami, Florida. Josephine and her two sons joined him there.
When Bernard retired from the Air Force in 1971 Josephine and family moved to Deer Creek, Minnesota and started a dairy farm. Josephine ran the dairy farm for 25 years, 10 by herself after her Bernard passed. During her retirement she worked at the upholstery shop in Henning and the embroidery shop in New York Mills.
