Joseph Johnson Jr.

Joseph Oliver Johnson Jr. was born on December 31, 1942 to Joseph Sr. and Bertha (Brown) Johnson in International Falls, Minnesota. He attended Clearbrook High School graduating with the class of 1961. After graduation Joseph enlisted in the United States Navy. He made a career in the Navy, honorably serving his country until 1982. Upon his discharge, he returned home where he drove milk truck and farmed.

Joseph enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family. He loved John Wayne movies and reading Louis L’Amour books.

On June 10, 2020, Joseph passed away at Essentia Health in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota at 77 years of age. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceding Joseph in death are his parents; daughter: Lisa Johnson; and grandson: Elijah Bell.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife: Brenda; children: Joseph Johnson III; Kathleen Brown; Lauri Johnson; Melissa Perry; Rebecca Johnson; Mikael Johnson; Myshell Johnson; and Charles F. Johnson; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings: Betty Ann Malm; Fredrick Johnson; and Charles Johnson; many other relatives and a host of friends.
