Jonathan Lankki was born December 30,1984, in Edina, Minnesota. His parents are the late John Edward Bell and Marian Annette Menge.

Jonathan attended Hoyt Lakes Elementary School in Hoyt Lakes, Minnesota and Mesabi High School in Aurora, Minnesota. He was employed by MVP Painting in Big Lake, Minnesota. Jonathan really loved the outdoors and enjoyed his job at a resort on Lake Vermillion as a ground’s maintenance worker. He made his home in Aurora, Minnesota where he worked construction.

Jonathan loved the outdoors and listening to music, and he especially loved to fish.

On July 16, 2026, Jonathan passed away in Aurora, Minnesota at 41 years of age. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceding Jonathan in death were his by his grandparents: Merle Menge and Edward Bell, and his father, John Bell.

Jonathan is survived by his mother, Marian Menge of Aurora; his grandparents, Mary Menge of Eagan and Marion Bell of Montrose; his siblings, Shannon (Jason) Berry of Coon Rapids, Shawn (Megan Will) Lankki of Elk River, Jason (Amber) Lankki of Becker, and Melissa (Robert) Heifort of Hugo; his sons, Kayden Pedin and Hayden Lankki; his stepson, Jeremiah Tegland; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
