Joleen Ruane

Joleen (Urbick) Ruane was born on October 5, 1955 to Rose Mary (Finnestad) & Marcus Urbick in Edina, Minnesota. She graduated in 1973 from Kennedy High School, Bloomington, Minnesota. Joleen was a member of the “Kips” the Kennedy High School synchronized swimming team. As a child Joleen enjoyed trips to her grandparents Amos and Cecilia Finnestad's farm in Iowa where she had a pet pig. For 7 years Joleen was a Cub Scout Master or Den Leader and would often dress up in the Tiger costume during recruitment opportunities. She attended Normandale Community College where she obtained the necessary certifications to be a medical lab technician. During her long career she worked at Park Nicolet, Quello Clinic, and Fairview Health System. She married Roger Stillman and for 31 years they had many wonderful adventures together including a trip to the Northwest part of the country that included stops and tastings at vineyards. Joleen loved to garden and had a vast knowledge of plants. Joleen is finally at peace and free from her long battle with cancer, mental illness, multiple sclerosis, and other medical issues. In keeping with her wishes there will be no funeral, instead together with her husband Roger Stillman private interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Joleen is preceded in death by her husband Roger Stillman, mother Rose Mary Urbick, sister Renee Wangstad and grandparents Amos and Cecila Finnestad. Ex-husband Steven Ruane. Joleen is mourned by her beloved son Jon Ruane and a host of friends and relatives.    Jo Bug and Fluffy are reunited once again.
